The Alberta Apprenticeship and Industry Training Board has extended the scholarship application deadline for all eligible Park Derochie employees until August 8, 2014.
Park Derochie along with many other generous local organizations and businesses and the Alberta Heritage Scholarship fund contribute to the Alberta Apprenticeship and Industry Training Scholarship Programs.
Park Derochie founded the George Hiebert Memorial Scholarship in 2011 in memory of George Hiebert who passed away, in 2009 at the age of 72, due to cancer. During his 40 years of employment with Park Derochie, George demonstrated an admirable passion for his trade and a genuine dedication to quality workmanship. His tenacity, outstanding work ethic and loyalty to Park Derochie were commendable and highly regarded by all who knew him.
This scholarship is intended to assist and encourage Alberta tradesmen/women to pursue apprenticeships in the fields related to the industries which Park Derochie is involved and to inspire them to emulate the honourable qualities demonstrated by George Hiebert.
